Reaching level 70 in World of Warcraft

After many months of intermittent leveling, my hunter reached level 70 the other day. It was an odd feeling to now have two level 70 characters. To put this in perspective, the time commitment for a level 70 is approximately 9 days or 216 hours. I guess I started this character in October or so, an average of 30 hours played per month. That’s quite a bit of time. I often wonder why it is that I put enough value on this game to spend so much time on it but I’ve never really found a good answer. Several friends feel the same way and we’ve had some long conversations about what makes WoW so interesting.
Now of course I’m entering into a different game with the hunter. As a level 70 I’m eligible for all of the normal PvP battlegrounds and I’m looking forward to spending some time doing that over the next few months.
